Have you oftened wondered where Building429 got there name from?
The band’s lead vocalist Jason Roy explains; The band’s name originated
from a youth group. Roy’s wife Cortni had once belonged to a youth
group that had a system called the “429 Challenge,” based on Ephesians
4:29. Whenever someone in the group spoke negatively about another,
others were allowed to issue a verbal “four twenty-nine.” This resulted inthe offender having to say something nice to the person that was
offended. The band members took this challenge and created a name
around it – building one another up, hence, “Building 429”.
Building429 is comprised of Jason Roy (vocals), Michael Anderson
(drums), Jesse Garcia (guitar), Aaron Branch (bass) and Steven Stewart
Fear No More.
“I wanted to write a song that spoke to the reality that many times, the
things we wouldn’t ever choose actually lead us directly into the most
beautiful, life altering moments where the reality of God’s presence is
beyond a doubt,” says Building 429 frontman Jason Roy. “Whatever
challenge you may be facing in this time, I hope ‘Fear No More’ reminds
you that God is with you in the trial, that while every great book has
moments of doubt, the hero is always with us, and the final chapter is yet to be written.”
